Lighting City Theatre Brugge 2002

During the restoration of the city theatre no records could be found for the lighting. The city therefore resolutely opted for a modern design.
The lighting is situated in three locations: the access, the entrance hall and the corridor to the foyer. For the light drain the transparent natural stone onyx was used, which certainly adds to the special character of this building. The exterior lamps under the arcades emphatically lighten the entrance to the building.
The fittings are hanging outside the contours of the façade, turning the vertical streaks of light into landmarks. The entrance hall is only lit by four large pillars of light. In the corridor four small light objects were integrated into the balustrade. The stone is deliberately of a warmer colour and the lamps are below eye level, which gives the corridor a more festive touch.
Commissioned by the City of Brugge.
