Hans De Pelsmacker
Big Bancs, Parc d'Avroy, Liège
By order of the City of Liège Hans De Pelsmacker, together with Michel Thiry, has realised un banc public. Michel Thiry has already been working in atelier Créahm for years, an atelier where artists with a mental disability get the opportunity to develop in a creative way. Based on the drawings of Michel, this bench was screwed and glued together without any concrete plan. Deliberately a lot of room was left to sudden inspirations. To respect the spirit of the drawings as much as possible, the wood is not finished and the connections have been left solid and visible. At the moment the bench can be found on the inner court of Musée Curtius. Later on it will be moved to the Parc d' Avroy in Liège, where it will be part of the renovated Madmusee.
