Hans De Pelsmacker
Gemeenschapscentrum De Rinck, Anderlecht
The concept foresees a coherent integration of four different materials with their own particular role within the building. Every material used possesses a self-evident/obvious organic beauty, gained by its structure or natural complexity. The interventions are minimally integrated throughout the entire building and contribute to the proper functioning of circulation, orientation and security in the centre.
The four interventions are:
- A transparent grid or screen/shade of leave buds in bronze,
- A light object with a surface of albaster as light transmission,
- The integration of crowded veiny marble surface in walls and/ or floors
- A sitting volume consisting out of a composition of colorful ceramic tiles.
The interventions cultivate an abundance of structures, materials and colors which on the one hand support the compact labyrinthine character of architecture, and on the other hand represent the multicultural and metropolitan character.
